These Are This October's Trades by Tommy Tuberville
Tommy Tuberville, United States senator from Alabama since 2021, disclosed he made nearly 70 new trades in October as he continues to be one of the most active traders in the Senate.
The biggest trade that Mr. Tuberville made was investing between $250,000 -$500,000 in Microsoft Corp (MSFT:US) on October 13 when the closing was $234.24, about 5% lower relative to the current market price.
He previously sold $100,000 - $250,000 worth of Microsoft shares on October 05 when MSFT closed at $249.2, taking the advantage of a short-term rally in tech stocks at the beginning of the last month.
Elsewhere, the Senator invested between $50,000 - $100,000 in Exxon Mobil (XOM:US) in the first week of October, hoping that the rally in Energy stocks will continue to play out over the winter. Exxon shares trade about 11% higher since Tuberville made that trade around 5 weeks ago. His long trade comes after he sold some Exxon shares earlier in October.
His other, smaller-size trades include buying more Microsoft stock, as well as investing in Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF:US) and Brazilian fintech business Nu Holdings (NU:US). On the other hand, Sen. Tuberville was selling shares of the German industrial giant Siemens AG (SIEGY:US), Verizon Communication Inc (VZ:US), U.S. Steel Corp (X:US), and Chevron Corp (CVX:US).
Both Cleveland-Cliffs and U.S. Steel corp are in the top 5 list of the most traded U.S. stocks by Senator Tuberville, who sits on the committees for Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry; Armed Services; Veteran’s Affairs; and Health, Education, Labor & Pensions.
