Which Stocks Did Democrat Alan Lowenthal Buy in September?
Congressman Alan Lowenthal disclosed yesterday that he made 4 new trades in September as the California Democrat continues to increase exposure to stocks.
Mr. Lowenthal bought shares of Service Corp (SCI: US) on three occasions in September for an amount in the range between $1,000 to $15,000. All three transactions were made when SCI shares were closing between $57 and $58 per share.
Shares of the company, which provides funeral goods and services as well as cemetery property and services, are trading around 3% higher since then as the market attempts to stage a relief rally amid deeply oversold conditions.
Elsewhere, Lowenthal also bought $1,000 to $15,000 worth of shares of Salesforce.com (CRM: US) on September 22 when stock price closed at $150.15.Prior to making these trades in August, Lowenthal bought shares of Crown Holdings Inc (CCK: US) in August for $1,000 to $15,000 and invested between $15,000 to $50,000 in Zoetis Inc (ZTS: US).
Congressman Lowenthal, who represents California's 47th congressional district since 2013, has been mostly buying shares in recent months, with an exception of selling Medtronic Plc (MDT: US) shares in the final week of July. He mostly traded sectors like Industrials, Consumer Discretionary, and IT. As far as individual stocks are concerned, Lowenthal’s most traded stock is Sunrun Inc (RUN: US), followed by DraftKings Inc (DKNG: US).
The Congressman is a member of the committee on Natural Resources, as well as on Transportation & Infrastructure.
