Congressman Earl Blumenauer disclosed that he made 7 trades in September as he continues to actively trade in the U.S. stock market.
His two biggest trades by size include selling the corp bond of JPMorgan Chase (JPM: US) on 23 September, just a few weeks before the banking giant reported its Q3 results. Another $15,000 to $50,000 trade that Mr. Blumenauer was selling bonds of Merck & Co (MRK: US) on September 15.
Other than these two transactions, Congressman Blumenauer was mostly buying shares of U.S. companies in smaller sizes. He invested between $1,000 to $15,000 in Alaska Air Group (ALK: US), Amgen Inc (AMGN: US), Centene Corp (CNC: US), and Emerson Electric (EMR: US). The Congressman also bought shares of Newmont Corp (NEM: US), one of the world’s largest gold miners.
Democrat Blumenauer, who sits on the House committee for Ways & Means, is also an active trader of U.S. Notes and Bills, two of the most traded securities by the representative for Oregon's 3rd congressional district since 1995. In April, the Congressman was aggressively buying U.S. Treasury Notes.
The Congressman also often trades Intel Corp (INTC: US) and Northwest Natural Holding (NWN: US). As far as sectors are concerned, the Democratic representative most often traded companies within the IT sector, as well as sectors like Financials and Healthcare.
