Which Stocks Is Democrat Josh Gottheimer Trading Nowadays?
Congressman Josh Gottheimer, one of the most active trades in the House, disclosed he made nearly 30 trades in September.
Congressman Gottheimer, the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 5th congressional district since 2017, was both buying and selling U.S. stocks in September, mostly in smaller sizes, $1,000 - $15,000.
On the buy side, Mr. Gottheimer bought shares of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY: US), Automatic Data Processing (ADP: US), Flywire (FLYW: US), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN: US), STAG Industries (STAG: US), UnitedHealth Group (UNH: US), and Shimano (SMNNY: US).
On the other hand, Congressman Gottheimer was mostly selling tech stocks. He reported on the sale of Verizon (VZ: US), Salesforce (CRM: US), Oracle (ORCL: US), Nvidia (NVDA: US), MongoDB (MDB: US), etc.
This isn’t surprising given that Rep. Gottheimer mostly trades Tech stocks, followed by Healthcare, Consumer Discretionary, and Financials. In terms of the number of trades made and volume, Microsoft is by far the most traded stock by Congressman Gottheimer. In August, the Representative from New Jersey was selling and buying Microsoft shares valued in millions.
He is one of the four Democratic members of Congress who violated the STOCK act by disclosing financial trades later than required. He disclosed only in August this year that he received shares of Independent Bank Corp (INDB: US) in exchange for Meridian Bancorp Inc (EBSB: US) in November 2021.
